Dear Students,

We are pleased to announce that for the Fall Semester of the 2026 academic year (115-1), our program has invited Associate Professor Akiko Yamamoto from the Department of International Legal and Political Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of the Ryukyus, as a visiting scholar to teach an intensive course titled "History and Present Status of the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty" (日米安保条約の歴史と現在).

Please find the course details below. All eligible students are warmly encouraged to enroll!

Course Details

  • Course Title: History and Present Status of the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty (日米安保条約の歴史と現在) / Intensive Course

  • Instructor: Associate Prof. Akiko Yamamoto (Department of International Legal and Political Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of the Ryukyus)

  • Offering Academic Unit: Master's Program in Japan Studies, College of International Affairs

  • Course Dates: October 1, 2026 (Thu) – November 30, 2026 (Fri)

  • Class Schedule: Mondays & Thursdays, Periods 2, 3, and 4 (09:10 – 12:00)

  • Language of Instruction: Japanese

  • Target Audience: Graduate students of our university (Undergraduate students and students from other departments/programs are also welcome)

Course Registration Reminder

  • Phase 1 Course Registration: August 25 – August 26

  • Phase 2 Course Registration: August 31 – September 2
