On Tuesday, March 24, the Japan Studies Program was honored to host Professor Kazuyoshi Komami, Associate Professor at Ritsumeikan University and current Visiting Fellow at National Chengchi University (NCCU). The lecture, titled "Cross-Strait Tensions and Shifting Perceptions of China in Taiwan and Japan," provided students with an in-depth exploration of several critical themes: An analysis of Taiwan's current domestic political and economic landscape. The evolution of how Taiwan and Japan perceive and define China's regional role. Key events that have significantly impacted cross-strait stability in recent years.
