On October 7, the Master’s Program in Japan Studies hosted an exchange event with the Faculty of Law from Keio University. Professor Masanori Kasai, who is visiting this semester to conduct the intensive course "Regional Sociology," led a group of his research students to Taiwan for a series of classroom and cultural exchanges. The program began with Professor Kasai inviting the Keio students to join a classroom discussion, where they explored the social and regional characteristics of both Taiwan and Japan with our program students. Following the academic session, Assistant Professor Tadahiro Ishihara accompanied Professor Kasai and the visiting students on a tour of the campus and the Dah Hsian Lectures Library. Later in the evening, the group traveled to Maokong for dinner, where they shared insights into the cultural differences between Taiwan and Japan. The atmosphere throughout the event was relaxed and pleasant, and participants expressed that they gained a wealth of experience from this meaningful exchange.
