On Monday, February 26, the Master’s Program in Japan Studies at the College of International Affairs hosted a welcome reception for Professor Masaru Mabuchi, who visited this semester to provide intensive courses. The event took place following the conclusion of his class, with Program Director Wen-Yang Chang, along with Professors Shih-Hui Li, Tadahiro Ishihara, and many students in attendance. In addition to lunch boxes, the program prepared local hand-shaken tea from near the campus for Professor Mabuchi to experience Taiwanese flavors. The reception aimed to provide the Professor with a warm welcome during his intensive two-month teaching schedule, offering him opportunities to explore Taiwan and enjoy its local cuisine. Professor Mabuchi currently serves as a Professor at the College of Policy Science, Ritsumeikan University, and has previously held positions at Kyoto University and the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI). A renowned authority in Japanese Public Administration with an extensive list of publications, Professor Mabuchi’s presence allowed students to gain profound insights into Japanese administrative regulations and practices while benefiting from his vast research expertise.
