Students of the "Regional Sociology" course offered by the Japanese Studies degree program went to Mino, Kaohsiung for a "Taiwan-Japanese" course led by Junko Hoshi, a visiting associate professor of this program and associate professor of modern social studies in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Ibaraki University. A workshop with the theme "Comparison of Community Building". The number of participants in the workshop included graduate students studying regional sociology courses, as well as students who were mentored by Junko Hoshi during her time at Ibaraki University.
